Find out by being elected to one of the HSG`s committees.
Committee work on top of everything else? Academic self-management takes time. Yet also gives you access to implicit knowledge on how academic institutions work; first-hand information that is relevant to your day-to-day life as an academic. Knowing how individuals or project proposals are assessed will be useful. Knowing issues that are being discussed in the Senate or your school can help you align your approach. Last but not least, committees allow you to get in touch with representatives of universities and colleges.
Your non-tenured faculty can tell you which committee seats are to be filled, and you can mention that you would like to represent the non-tenured faculty in an appointments process.
